Kayneynia Burney

Kayneynia is a Certified Nursing Assistant level II at Cape Fear Valley Medical Hospital where she worked during her studies  to become a nurse. In 2010 she earned her Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education with a concentration in Biology. Prior to working towards her goal to enroll and complete nursing school she taught high school science for 5 years in Vance and Cumberland County Schools. May 13th she embarked on a new journey with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Fayetteville State University. Her post graduate plans are to join Scotland Memorial Healthcare Team and Nurse Residency Program. 

Kayneynia is a member of the National Black Nurses Association, National Student Nurses Association, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, INC. She is the mother of Ahmari Campbell (3 y.o) and daughter to Sheila Burney and Charles Harris. She is committed to promoting diversity in healthcare and supporting evidence -based practices. In addition, she has a special interest in encouraging at risk youth/minorities in rural areas to seek higher education in healthcare. Her career endeavor is to join the United States Armed Forces.
